(Feature Blog) Thrift Chic Chick

So this week I decided to take a page from the book of Detective Dolce and I looked around campus for a JMU student who was worthy of the Thrift Chic Chick title… and here she is!

This senior psych major chose to remain nameless.

Her head may be missing, but you don’t need to see it to know it is full of great fashion sense.

Dress: Express , originally $70 for $9.99 at the Rugged Warehouse

Black Leather Clutch: $2 at the local Goodwill

Black Calf-height flat boots: Originally $45, on sale for $24 at the local Gap Outlet in Valley Mall

Tights: $2 on sale at Target (*her tip, if possible, see if you can get a bigger size in the kids section, it will be cheaper and you can always cut the feet for an ankle length legging look!*)

There you have it ladies! A sexy outfit for a night on the town for under $40 (which should have been well over $100)

Following my tips really can save you the big bucks!

*Also, if you would like to earn the Thrift Chic Chick title, head over to our “about your bloggers section” and shoot me an e-mail! Upload a picture and description of your latest savvy spending and you could be the next girl featured on one of my posts!*

  3. I do think that thrift stores are particularly wonderful for accessories. Sometimes the clothes can be hit or miss but I ALWAYS seem to find a bag or a necklace that can compliment a simple outfit at any time. I will get some pics and show you what I mean.

There is a thrift store down the street from me in Richmond(which depletes my already very small paycheck) called Halcyon that I absolutely LOVE just in case you are in the area
